After yesterday’s article on Starbucks new instant coffee packets, Starbucks VIA, I got an email about Nescafe Taster’s Choice Instant Coffee Single Serve Packets. Does this mean instant coffee is making a comeback?!
Sure, these instant coffee packets are another form of single serve coffee, but it definitely takes the romance out of preparing a cup of coffee. Possibly you don’t see pushing the button on your Keurig single cup coffee maker or Flavia Fusion Drink Station as romantic, but something about tearing open a small packet and dumping it into a cup just doesn’t cut it for me. Though convenient, single serve instant coffee feels more like opening a package of Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate. Not to say Swiss Miss isn’t a delicious treat, but I’m not feeling my most gourmet when the dehydrated little marshmallows fall into my cup. I know we live in a fast-paced society, but instant coffee should stay in the past where it belongs, oh, and in cooking too. Instant coffee is great for cooking and baking too…
