Though this blog focuses primarily on bringing your attentions to the gourmet products that are out there, every once in awhile it’s nice to have something a little different. Most of these “other posts” are created because of links sent to me by friends or readers. Here is one that I found particularly interesting: A car that runs on coffee! Amazing! Though there are plenty of going-green-projects that are probably more deserving of press, it’s these kinds of articles that allow people to realize the endless possibilities. We’re only limited by our imaginations and lucky for these scientists from Manchester, we are able to witness something truly amazing. The graphic explains how it works, which is why it is such a large image. To break it down though, it takes about 56 shots of ground espresso to travel just one mile.

Now, I wonder if the stronger the coffee.. the faster the car? If that were the case then maybe these guys should try those new Green Mountain Revv K-cups (coming March 18) I’ve been raving about. That baby would FLY! Green Mountain Revv and Revv Pulse Coming to CoffeeRocket.com!

So yesterday we announced the creation of Green Mountain’s new K-cup, Revv and Revv Pulse. Well, late-last night an email was sent to me with a bit more information, which you need to know about in order to get as hyped as we are about the arrival of these two new K-cups! Here is a quote from Lindsey Bolger, Director of Coffee Sourcing and Relationships at Green Mountain Coffee.

While we can’t say for sure exactly what the new Green Mountain Revv K-cup and the new Green Mountain Revv K-cup Pulse taste or feel like (energy-wise), we do know some descriptor details that are sure to make us rip open the packaging come March 18th when the new Green Mountain K-cups become available.

Both of the the Green Mountain K-cups, Revv and Revv Pulse are designed with more coffee in each K-cup than all other K-cups. These additional grinds crafted of a blend of 100% Arabica medium and dark roasted beans create a smooth smoky sweetness (try saying that 3 times fast!) that is sure not to overpower your tastebuds.

The new Green Mountain K-cup Revv only has that extra coffee in the K-cup, but the new Green Mountain Revv Pulse has Ginseng and Guarana (lead natural ingredients in popular energy drinks) to help you cultivate more focus and energy than just a plain ol’ cup of coffee.

After attaining Timothy’s Coffee, Green Mountain showed an epic slowdown in new K-cup productions. Known for their variety and ever-growing selection of flavored K-cups, it is about time for Green Mountain to shock the market once more with something new.

We are all well aware of the energy drink craze happening right now. So, how has Green Mountain decided to play into this market? Tassimo Releases Tassimo PRO for Small Offices

Tassimo Hot Beverage System is a fantastic single serve coffee maker. The Tassimo Hot Beverage System uses Tassimo TDISCs that each have their own barcode. The machine is able to read the barcode and instantly prepare your drink the way it was meant to be prepared. There is no need to adjust strength of brew or cup size, the Tassimo knows as soon as you clamp down the TDISC into the system. Now, Tassimo has released the Tassimo PRO for small offices. Although, the regular sized TDISCs made for the Tassimo Hot Beverage System do not fit into the Tassimo PRO. A different TDISC is needed in order to fit. This was done to prevent theft in offices, so people were not taking TDISCs home to their smaller Hot Beverage Systems. It’s a beautiful and intelligent machine with a sleek design. While the Tassimo PRO TDISCs are not yet by CoffeeRocket.com, the TDISCs for Tassimo Hot Beverage System definitely are. Flavia Coffee Costa Rica Review

After placing the Flavia Coffee brew pack in your single cup coffee maker, probably a Flavia Fusion Deluxe Drink Station if you are at home, you can take out the pack after the seal has been pierced and really smell the coffee grinds. The scent is sweet and strong, which is a great indication of freshness. Upon brewing the Flavia Coffee pack into your mug, the aroma smells of sugared almonds with slight earthy notes, like those from a tropical woodsy area.

This coffee is a medium to dark roast for sure and you won’t have to look at the package to know that. The rich chocolately color is lighter than the Flavia Coffee espresso, but much darker than a traditional breakfast blend, which by the way, Flavia Coffee makes an excellent one.

After slurping the first sip, the Flavia Coffee Costa Rica pack has a wonderfully thick mouth-feel. It’s not watery at all and feels like a hearty cup of coffee. It’s smooth taste deliveres what you would hope for after smelling the aroma. It is sweet with balanced acidity that makes it full-bodied without tasting like burnt beans, but absolutely no bitterness is present. This Flavia Coffee is A+ in my book.
