Though Flavia Coffee may not have the widest selection of products, they have still managed to stand out in the world of single cup coffee. Flavia Coffee is one of the few, if not only, single cup coffee manufacturers to invest so heavily in sustainability and green practices. In addition to the Terracycle Program they partake in (more info here), Flavia Coffee started the Brighter Tomorrow at Origin Program.
Flavia Coffee helps the exact co-operative and farms in the Kiambu district of Kenya that produce the coffee for their Flavia Kenya brand. By restoring coffee drying tables and rehabilitating wet mills, Flavia Coffee helps Kenya produce more quality beans, which in turn allows the farmers to collect a greater profit for their product.
By drinking Flavia Kenya Coffee you help support 2500 farmers. Not too shabby for pressing a button on your Flavia Fusion Drink Station.

This makes sense on so many levels for Flavia Coffee to do. Mainly for sustaining their own brand while also increasing the longevity of their supply line. Flavia coffee is by far my favorite single cup coffee.
It’s so refreshing to see a major company so involved with making our earth a better environment for the future and also helping the less fortunate in other countries!! What a great compassion to catch on for every company big or small!
That’s nice that Flavia is doing all of this. I am with Flavia for the TASTE of fresh coffee, every time, with variety! I just bought a Flavia coffee maker for my daughter.
I’m not an economist, so could someone please explain how or why Flavia coffee is cheaper to purchase thru Coffee Rocket rather than myflavia.com? Don’t they all get it from the same place?
I love my Flavia Coffee, its easy, the coffee is great. I wouldn’t change for anything.
Thank you for supporting Community Trade! Community Trade is a commitment to trading fairly and responsibly with suppliers and is something that I strongly support! Community Trade forges long-lasting relationships with the farmers in Kenya, rewarding them (the suppliers) with good trading practices and a reliable, independence-building wage! Thank you! I love my Flavia coffee!
I real enjoy my Flavia and the selection it provides. It is interesting to hear about their green activities. Do we think these activities are raising their costs and ultimately their product prices?
It is so nice to know that by purchasing a great tasting convenient coffee like flavia, that you’re providing a better existence for others.
I have been using Flavia for about 2 1/2 years now and like it for the taste as well as convenience. It is extremely refreshing to learn they are doing good in the world, makes me feel proud to brew Flavia.
Flavia is easy to use, versatile and I love the Kenya variety because its smooth – yet hearty!
We have been using Flavia Coffee since 2006. We have a small office and some of the workers need decaf, I like flavors or bold coffees and the other guys like a middle-of-the-road blend. The SB100 was perfect for us. However, after ordering rail after rail of coffee, I wondered about recyclability of the packets. I was able to speak with someone from Flavia that gave me a lot of information about recycling, sustainability, and Brighter Tomorrow. I’m the type of person that won’t buy specific coffees unless they’re part of the Fair Trade, I support OxFam and its efforts and am glad that by keeping Flavia in my office, I’m also not compromising my own personal belief system.
Knowing I’m helping support 2500 farmers makes my cuppa Joe even that much better. Thanks for sharing this!
It is always wonderful when businesses both large and small, find ways to reach out and help the people who continue to supply them with quality products. Without these hard working people they would not be in business.
So good to know I am helping 2,500 farmers…..yay for the little man..
It is the only coffee I drink at home. It gets my day jump started. The Costa Rican is my favorite
Nice to know that just purchasing my favorite coffee helps so many.
I love my Flavia coffee! I’m not sure I would go out of my way to purchase only sustainable coffee, but it does make me feel good when the coffee I do buy is sustainable and green.
Flavia Coffee is the greatest. We don’t specifically use the coffee referred to above but it’s good to know that Flavia is making the effort. Maybe in the future more of the Flavia coffee and teas will be from sustainable sources.
Flavia Coffee is the most flavorful single cup coffee, period! And I can’t believe that the blog says they don’t have a wide selection of products. There are so many ways to make so many drinks on my Fusion machine that I may never run out of possibilities!
It’s good to know that I can enjoy my coffee not only for it’s great taste but also because of the company’s concern and efforts to make our world a better place.
We love our machine and the coffee that it makes. The flavor selection of coffee is outstanding also. It is one of the best investments for our kitchen.
Glad Flavia Coffee is supporting this.Lovin my machine and Coffeerocket makes my indulgence affordable!
flavia coffee is great – and in hindsite, it’s nice that beneath my cup of coffee, i am able to do my share in helping farmers in Kenya…cool!
A win-win for Flavia Coffee, it’s suppliers and customers. Good economic and business sense, and eco-friendly as well.
My son-in-law turned me on to Coffeerocket for my Flavia coffee. I saved $50.00 on my first order compared to the Flavia site. I don’t quite understand that, but hey $50.00 in my pocket feels almost as good as Flavia tastes!
My Flavia machiine was one of the few things that survived Hurricane Katrina (it was in a container that floated). Having a great cup of coffee helped me through some rough days . It now sits in my new house.
It is nice to know that by purchasing a great tasting coffee like flavia coffee, which is so easy to brew, you provide a better existence for other folks. And I love how it’s cheaper on this site than myflavia.com too.
My hubby brought home some Chai Latte from the office a few months ago, touting the tastiness and smooth flavor. After a few samples from him, I was able to get a used machine on eBay, and have since placed a huge order to sample the different coffees. I’m normally brewing some pretty strong coffee here at home, and it’s taking getting used to the “weak” coffee produced with the lighter roasts that came with the sample pack. I look forward to the 5-7 bean stronger brews, and hope to settle on some stiff smak u awake coffee from my Flavia Coffee, as the coffee is the key to health for Blood Type A. A super-beneficial drink, I try to have at least a cup a day, and knowing I’m doing good across the world, will make it all the better to know I buy from a socially responsible company.
go flavia coffee! your concept makes sense in the “think globally act locally” sense…
Fantastic story! I would love to hear more about these coffees – especially my favorites Sumatra and Intense Dark Roast.
