Sugar, Cream & Collagen? New Collagen Coffee Emerges in Market

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

Collagen CoffeeNestlé, head-quartered in Switzerland, has released a new “beauty food.” Under their Nescafé brand and ‘Body Partner’ product line, they have created an instant coffee containing collagen. Or is it a collagen supplement containing instant coffee? Either way, it’s quite unusual. Currently the new product is only being manufactured by their Malaysian branch and exclusively circulating around Singapore. Inside the small package contains 20 sticks, which are made up of coffee, skim milk, and 200 mg of collagen. There is not much scientific evidence to prove that ingesting collagen will have any of the desired effects people expect. But, if they do perfect these nutria cosmetics (ingestible products that produce external beautification results), it’s only a matter of time before we are all racing to the shelves trying to get our hands on whatever will help slow down the aging process.  Although it’s doubtful that the new Nescafé product will ever reach the US market, it certainly confirms the race to end aging is becoming more aggressive and much more accessible. Should we be excited or concerned?
